Christmas Day Service

Easter is a special time of year to remember the very basis of our salvation which the apostle Paul summarises for us in 2 Corinthians when he speaks about Jesus’ death and resurrection and what that has achieved for us:

…one has died for all, therefore all have died, and he died for all that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. …Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold the new has come.

These are deep truths to consider, and it would do us well to take the time in the week or weeks leading up to Easter to reflect and prepare our hearts to celebrate what God has done for us in Christ. To help you with that, here are some recent books and resources that you may find helpful for both young and old.

Following on from her “Jesus Christmas” family devotion booklet, Barbara Reaoch has created a 30 day Easter version that takes families through the Old Testament all the way up to Easter itself and how Jesus is the fulfillment of all God’s promises.

These family devotionals are great for families with a wide range of ages – each study has at least one question for 3-4’s, 5-7’s, 7-12’s, teens and adults and really only take 10 minutes each, so perfect for the breakfast table before the family rushes off to all the busyness of the day.

While strictly not a devotional book, it’s still a great one to read through leading up to Easter. 

 takes us on a tour of thirty different places in the Bible where you can find a prophecy about Jesus, and a number of them focus around the Easter story.

Drop in on Thursdays and Fridays with your latest project! Beginners welcome and there is no cost, except for a voluntary donation towards tea.

 from 9:00-11:00am the church meeting room is used for various craft activities including painting, sewing, knitting and needlework. This is an open event and anyone may attend, and it includes a tea break and a short Bible message.


We have a quilting group who meet in the church hall 

 from 11am. It’s a great place to make some new friends and catch up over a cuppa.

Our Creche operates every Sunday during the 10am service.

There is also an interconnected cry room for newborn babies and parents to make use of during the service.

Creche

Our Kids’ Church program caters for children aged 4 through to 12, meets on Sundays in the Kids' Church Hall and takes place during the morning service. We love for our kids to join us for the first part of the main service. Then, the leader will let them know when it's time to head out.

Kids' Church includes singing, age-appropriate teaching and crafts.

 curriculum, and aim to teach the children stories and principles of the Bible. If you have any questions about the Kids’ Church program, please contact Scott Hewson through the church office.

Discoverers (Friday Youth Group)

Throughout the year our women are involved in a variety of ways as they seek to honour the Lord Jesus. Some of our regular activities include:

 where we work through books of the Bible together (meeting from 9:45am Tuesdays at the church during the school term).

 is a book club for women of all ages who get together one evening each month for one year to read and discuss Christian books. These are selected to consider the role of a Christian woman in marriage, family, church as well as broader societal issues. We have two Titus 2 groups. One group meets on the first Tuesday of each month, and the other meets on the second Tuesday.

 breakfasts are for women of all ages and take place regularly throughout the year.

 aims to present the real meaning of Christmas to those who have not understood it. You are invited to join us for an enjoyable evening of excellent input, delicious eats, live music and good company.

Encourage men of all ages to love God and his Word

Equip, train and support men in the exercise of ministry

Twice a term we meet for breakfast and a bible talk. The cost of the breakfast is $8per person, and is followed by a short talk and/or testimony.

Details of upcoming breakfasts are in the “Coming Events” section of the Sunday bulletins.

For anyone who is 18+ we meet during the term on Thursday evenings at Martin & Ruth's from 7:30 – 9:30pm to gather, enjoy each other’s company and study the Bible together.

Young Adults Bible Study


Maida Vale Youth (MVY) meets on Fridays during the school term from 7-9pm (starting on the second Friday each term).

A great place to meet new friends, and enjoy some fun together as we learn more about following Jesus.
