An Evening with Henry Olonga

Henry had the world at his feet…

Not only was he the first Black cricket player selected for Zimbabwe, but also the youngest in its history. He went on to play 80 Test and One Day Internationals

At the age of 25 he gave it all up, making a political stand against the human rights violations of his country's dictator and president, Robert Mugabe. during the 2003 Cricket World Cup. With his life under threat, Henry has lived in exile, first in England and now Australia.

Henry's story is one of Christian conviction, courage and sacrifice. He continues to stand in solidarity with the marginalised and oppressed through his charity work in South Australia. He is also an accomplished classical singer, reaching the semi-final of The Voice in 2019.

Together with David Mansfield, Henry will share his story in word and song at WPC Maida Vale on 31 July 2026.

This is a great event to invite a friend who is enquiring about Jesus, or to start the conversation by inviting them along!
